The CineSol Film Festival returns this December for its 32nd year, continuing its longstanding mission to uplift, celebrate, and champion the art of independent filmmaking. Founded in 1993 during National Hispanic Heritage Month, CineSol has deep roots in the Texas Border Region and a rich legacy of bringing film, culture, and community together. Over the decades, the festival has traveled throughout the region, including Matamoros and Reynosa, highlighting diverse voices and creative storytelling. Detailed schedule is available online. RGV Premiere: Take It Away
CineSol is proud to present the Rio Grande Valley premiere of the highly anticipated documentary Take It Away, directed by Adrian Arredondo and Myrna Perez. The film explores the rise of Tejano and Regional Mexican music through the story of iconic TV host Johnny Canales. Encore screenings and special artist performances will take place throughout both festival weekends. Tickets.
