🎶 About the Show
Guys and Dolls is a classic musical romantic comedy featuring some of the most unlikely pairings in Manhattan:
- A high-rolling gambler and a puritanical missionary
- A showgirl dreaming of the straight-and-narrow and a crap game manager who is anything but
Set in the Manhattan of Damon Runyon’s short stories, the musical follows con-man Nathan Detroit as he struggles to keep his notorious (and illegal) crap game alive. Along the way, audiences are taken from the bustle of Times Square to the dance clubs of Havana, and even into the sewers of New York City.
At its heart, Guys and Dolls is a story about love, and the great lengths a guy will go when he truly falls for a “doll.”

🎼 More About Guys and Dolls
With music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and a book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows, Guys and Dolls is one of Broadway’s most beloved musicals. Based on Damon Runyon’s stories about gamblers and missionaries in New York City, the show features iconic songs such as “Luck Be a Lady” and “Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat.” (Musical Theatre International, 2026)
The musical premiered on Broadway in 1950, winning the Tony Award for Best Musical, and was later adapted into a popular 1955 film starring Marlon Brando and Frank Sinatra. The story centers on the romance between gambler Sky Masterson and missionary Sarah Brown, alongside the long-running engagement of Nathan Detroit and Miss Adelaide.
