🎉 Celebrate Heritage & Tradition: A Guide to the 89th Annual Charro Days Fiesta 2026

Every year in late February, the city of Brownsville comes alive with color, culture, and community during Charro Days — an annual fiesta honoring the rich Mexican heritage shared on both sides of the Rio Grande. The celebration is named for the Charro, the dashing Mexican gentleman cowboy who represents tradition, pride, and history. (Charro Days, 2026)

A Tradition Since 1938

The first Charro Days celebration took place in February 1938 and featured parades, dances, races, a bullfight, a rodeo, a concert, a grand ball, and Noche Mexicana. Residents and visitors dressed in traditional Mexican attire to honor the Charros and the region’s cultural roots.

Today, Charro Days has grown into a dynamic, family-friendly festival offering something for every generation.
