🎭 The 52nd Season Lineup
1. Real Women Have Curves
- Dates: September 25 – October 4

Set in a tiny garment factory in East Los Angeles during September 1987, Real Women Have Curves follows 18-year-old Ana and a group of Latina immigrant women. Together, they race to finish an impossible dress production deadline while navigating family expectations, body image, and the looming threat of immigration enforcement.
2. Once on This Island Jr.

This 60-minute, Calypso-flavored musical adaptation of the Broadway hit and Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Mermaid is designed specifically for young performers. Set on an island in the French Antilles, a group of storytellers waiting out a terrible storm come together to share a tale of love, bravery, and strength—the story of Ti Moune, a peasant girl who falls in love with a wealthy boy from the other side of her island.
3. In the Heights
- Dates: January 8 – 17

Set over three sweltering summer days, In the Heights follows a tight-knit, vibrant Hispanic community in Washington Heights, Manhattan, as they face gentrification, rising costs, and big dreams for the future.
4. Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Oklahoma!
- Dates: February 26 – March 7
- Based on: Lynn Riggs’s 1931 play, Green Grow the Lilacs
Set in farm country outside the town of Claremore, Indian Territory, in 1906, Oklahoma! tells the story of farm girl Laurey Williams and her courtship by two rival suitors: the charismatic cowboy Curly McLain and the sinister farmhand Jud Fry. A secondary romance follows cowboy Will Parker and his flirtatious fiancée, Ado Annie.
5. On Golden Pond
- Dates: April 23 – May 2
- By: Ernest Thompson
Focusing on aging couple Ethel and Norman Thayer, this classic play takes place during their annual summer stay at their lake house on Golden Pond. When they are visited by their daughter Chelsea, her fiancé Billy Ray, and his son Billy Ray Jr., the story explores Chelsea and Norman’s turbulent relationship alongside the quiet difficulties faced by a couple in the twilight years of a long marriage.

Harlingen Community Theatre is a non-profit community theatre company dedicated to producing four to five Broadway-quality musicals and plays each year.
- Local Talent: All cast members—including children, teens, and adults—are local performers from throughout the RGV.
- Auditions: Auditions for each show are typically held 8–12 weeks prior to Opening Night.
- Get Involved: Beyond the stage, there are plenty of opportunities to volunteer and work behind the scenes!
