“How do you measure a year in the life?”
Loosely based on Puccini’s 1896 opera La bohème, RENT follows a group of impoverished young artists struggling to survive, love, and create in Lower Manhattan’s East Village. Set in the thriving bohemian culture of Alphabet City under the shadow of HIV/AIDS, this groundbreaking rock musical is a powerful testament to celebrating life and finding hope.
